Overview
Clotrimazole Mouth Paint 15ml is a topical antifungal preparation designed for application inside the mouth. It is commonly used to treat oral candidiasis, also known as oral thrush, a fungal infection caused by Candida species. Oral thrush may cause white patches, redness, soreness or discomfort on the tongue, inner cheeks and other surfaces of the mouth.
Mechanism of Action: How It Works
Clotrimazole inhibits the production of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. This weakens the membrane, disrupts normal fungal cell function and inhibits fungal growth. This action helps control the Candida organisms responsible for oral thrush.
