Bepanthen Ointment 30g is a topical skin-care and protective ointment containing dexpanthenol 5% (50 mg/g). Dexpanthenol is the alcohol form of pantothenic acid (pro-vitamin B5) and is converted to pantothenic acid in the skin. It supports processes involved in maintaining and repairing the skin.

The ointment is formulated to help maintain the skin barrier while supporting natural skin regeneration. It can be used on dry, chafed, cracked or split skin and for the care of superficial skin injuries and irritation.

How does Bepanthen Ointment work?

The active ingredient, dexpanthenol 5%, is absorbed into the skin and converted to pantothenic acid. Pantothenic acid is involved in the formation of coenzyme A, which has an important role in cellular metabolic processes and the formation of various substances needed by the body. Topically, dexpanthenol supports the natural regeneration and repair processes of the skin.

PRECAUTIONS & WARNINGS

• Do not use if allergic to dexpanthenol or any of the ingredients.
• Contains lanolin, which may cause reactions in sensitive individuals.
• For external use only.
• Avoid contact with the eyes.
• Not an antiseptic or antibiotic treatment for infected wounds.
• Seek medical attention for deep, extensive or infected wounds.
• Seek advice if a baby's nappy rash is severe or does not improve.
• Stop use and seek advice if significant irritation or an allergic reaction develops
