Citro-Soda Regular 120g is an effervescent granule preparation containing sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, citric acid and tartaric acid. It dissolves in water to produce a fizzy drink and is commonly used as a urinary alkaliniser and for symptomatic relief of acid-related digestive discomfort.
How Citro-Soda works
Citro-Soda contains alkaline salts, particularly sodium bicarbonate and sodium citrate. When taken as directed, these ingredients can increase the alkalinity of the urine, making it less acidic. This may help reduce the burning or stinging sensation that can occur during urination.
The preparation can also act as an antacid by helping neutralise excess stomach acid, providing symptomatic relief from acid indigestion and heartburn.
Citro-Soda does not treat the underlying cause of a urinary tract infection. If urinary symptoms are caused by a bacterial infection, appropriate medical assessment and treatment may be necessary.
