Product Overview
Hydrocortisone Injection is a corticosteroid medicine used in hospital and clinical settings to manage certain severe inflammatory or allergic conditions and adrenal insufficiency. Injectable hydrocortisone is commonly supplied as hydrocortisone sodium succinate powder that is reconstituted before administration.
How It Works
Hydrocortisone binds to glucocorticoid receptors inside cells and changes the expression of genes involved in inflammation and immune responses. This reduces the production of inflammatory mediators, helping control swelling, redness and excessive immune activity. It also has glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid effects that help replace cortisol and support blood pressure and fluid balance in patients with adrenal insufficiency.
