OVERVIEW
Ciprofloxacin 500mg Tablets 10's contain ciprofloxacin, an antibiotic belonging to the fluoroquinolone class. It works against certain bacteria and is prescribed for specific infections when the medicine is considered appropriate based on the infection, likely bacterial susceptibility and the patient's medical history.
Mechanism of Action: How It Works
Ciprofloxacin inhibits two bacterial enzymes: DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are essential for bacterial DNA replication and repair. By disrupting their activity, ciprofloxacin prevents susceptible bacteria from multiplying and can kill them.
