EPLEINTA 50MG TABLETS 30'S contains eplerenone, a selective aldosterone antagonist used in the management of cardiovascular conditions. Eplerenone works by blocking the action of aldosterone, a hormone that promotes sodium and water retention in the body. This helps reduce fluid retention and can lower blood pressure while helping to reduce strain on the heart.
Eplerenone is used particularly in heart failure with reduced left ventricular function, including appropriate patients following a recent myocardial infarction. It may also be prescribed for hypertension.
How to use
The dose is individualised by the prescriber. For heart failure, treatment is commonly started at 25 mg once daily and may be increased to 50 mg once daily, depending on the patient's potassium level, kidney function and response to treatment.
Take Epleinta exactly as prescribed. It may be taken with or without food. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting your doctor.
