X-BETA N Drops 10ml is a medicated combination product formulated for use in certain eye, ear and nasal conditions. It contains two active ingredients: Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate , a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, and Neomycin Sulphate , an aminoglycoside antibiotic that acts against susceptible bacteria.
What is X-BETA N used for?
X-BETA N may be used for certain inflammatory conditions affecting the:
- Eyes
- Ears
- Nose
where bacterial infection is present, suspected or where there is a risk of bacterial infection alongside inflammation
How does X-BETA N work?
Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate
Betamethasone is a corticosteroid. It helps reduce inflammation and associated symptoms such as:
- Redness
- Swelling
- Irritation
- Soreness
- Itching
Neomycin Sulphate
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It acts against susceptible bacteria and may help control bacterial infection.
Important precautions and warnings
Do not use X-BETA N if you are allergic to betamethasone, neomycin or any other ingredient in the product.
The product leaflet warns against use in certain situations, including where there is a perforated eardrum or where there are untreated infections for which corticosteroid treatment is inappropriate. Steroid treatment should not be started for unexplained eye redness without proper assessment
